GREENATHON – It’s almost time!

Greenathon kicks off next Friday! So get ready to save power, save petrol and save the planet!

All students will bring home a Greenathon task sheet and instructions next Friday so please read through the information when you receive it. There are lots of exciting events happening and opportunities for the students to get involved and learn about ways we can positively impact our environment.

The Greenathon is also about raising money for our school, so please support your children in getting sponsorship and completing as many tasks as possible.

And most of all - have fun! The Greenathon tasks are designed to be easily achievable for our kids, but if we all do our bit we can have a big impact.

Do you have children's books you no longer need?

As part of this year's RPS Greenathon, the PTA will be running a Pre-Loved Children's Book Sale at school.

We would greatly appreciate all donations of good quality pre-loved (used) children's books that you no longer want or need. Please donate them to the sale by placing them in the box in the school foyer.

The book sale will take place on Friday 13^th of September during break time for the kids to browse and purchase, and from 2pm to 3:30pm for parents and caregivers to do the same.

All books $2 each.

Time: 6:30pm until the clock strikes 12am

Venue: RPS School Hall

Tickets: $25pp and are available to purchase now on Kindo

Dust off the tiara and freshen up that spandex. This year's Big Quiz Night theme is SUPERHEROES & PRINCESSES!

This is one of our big PTA Fundraisers for the year and we really need your support!! So, please mark your calendar, book the babysitter and start putting together your team, or email your Class Liaison to be allocated to a class table.

The infamous Riggsy is locked and loaded and ready to be our Quiz Master! There will also be a Photo Booth, Pizza Dinner, Raffle/Auction, Spot Prizes, and DJ and Dancing until either your Pumpkin Carriage or Bat Mobile arrives to take you safely home.

Bonus: the class that puts together a table/team with the most attendees wins the VIP GOLD CLASS Table.

The Class Liaisons sent out an email with all the important info last week. Contact your Class Liaison or rps_pta@outlook.co.nz if you didn't receive it.

It's going to be a SUPER night! We look forward to seeing you there!

RPS 2nd Hand Uniform Shop

RPS 2^nd Hand Uniform Shop

The uniform shop is open every Tuesday from 2:30-3:15pm and located near the Platina Road entrance, opposite the pool. Pop in and get a great deal on good quality pre-loved uniform items.

Remember if you have uniforms to donate you can put these (clean and dry please) in the blue labelled bin in the school foyer.

Put these dates in your diary. The final PTA food dates for the term are:

• Mufti Day and Sausage Sizzle - 13^th September (Week 8)
• Jesters Pie Day - 27^th September (Week 10)

Want to get involved?

The PTA is still looking for individuals who want to get involved and help out in the following ways:

• Year 6 Breakfast (Term 4) - Calling all Year 5 families. It's time to support the Year 6's by helping to organise their Year 6 Breakfast. Please contact Nicola at rps_pta@outlook.co.nz if you want to be part of the team.

• Stationery 2020 - We need someone who is available for a couple of hours in the morning of the first 2-3 days of the school year to organise a team of volunteers to sort and deliver stationery boxes to classrooms.

• Family Fun Night - Join the organising team for next year's Family Fun Night from late Term 4 to mid Term 1. It's an amazing afternoon of fun in the sun - but it needs a team of people behind it.

College Rifles Touch Rugby 2019– 2020

RPS has registered touch teams for the following dates:

25th October - 13th December 2019 (8 Weeks)

14^th February - 13^th March 2020 (5 Weeks)

Year 1 & 2  play 5.30pm to 6pm

Year 3 & 4  play 6pm to 6.30pm

Year 5 & 6  play 6.30pm to 7pm

Please note children can play up a grade, but cannot play down a grade. Therefore if you have a group of kids who are for example year 4 and 5 who want to play together, they will need to enter the year 5 & 6 grade.

The year refers to the school year group your child is in for 2019.  The children stay in this year grade into the second half of the competition in early 2020.

The cost is $65.00 per player.

Payment is to be made by direct credit to Remuera Sport 12-3030-0619887-00 at time of registration.

Don't miss out! We will close off registrations on Friday September 6th. Please be aware that spaces fill quickly and can only be confirmed on a "first paid, first confirmed" basis.

Also, please let us know if you have any specific 'friend requests' and we will do our best to accommodate these, but please understand that there are no guarantees!

Finally, we always need keen (or not so keen!) parents to coach.  If you can coach or co-coach please do let us know as without parental assistance the children will not be able to play.
