There are two options for returning your sponsorship money:

1. Use Kindo - School Online Shop on the RPS website

2. Have your child return their money and completed sponsorship form to their class teacher. Do make sure the money is in an envelope and clearly marked with your child's name so they do not miss out of the chance to win an individual or class prize!

Bridge Club Parking

Bridge Club Parking

In previous newsletters, we have spoken about how at RPS we value the relationship we have with our neighbours and this includes our local Bridge Club.  The Club have been very kind in letting our parents briefly (5 to 10 minutes) park in their carpark to drop off and pick up children before and after school.

However, it has come to our attention there appears to be a misconception in our school community that our parents have the right to park in this car park. This is not the case.  The Bridge Club carpark is clearly signposted as "Members Parking Only, Tow Away Area" However, they are more than happy to allow our parents to use their car park for a quick drop off and pick up, anything longer than that and you risk having your car towed.

We need to be respectful and mindful, that the members of this club are in most cases our Senior Citizens, many of whom have mobility issues. As members, they have every right to expect that they will be able to park in their club's carpark.  Please respect their generosity. Thank you

Marvelous Market Day

Marvelous Market Day is coming up in Week 9 on 21st September.  The Middle School children have been working hard during Friday's Market Day Elective to design and create a range of exciting products to sell on Market Day.  The profits from the Market Day will be donated to 'Go Baby Go', which is a charity that adapts electric ride-on toy cars to be used by children with impaired mobility.

One of the many stalls will be selling good quality second hand books, toys and games, so if you have any of these items you're willing to donate, please drop them off to Room 16.

The 2018 EPro8 Technology Challenge

Pro8 2

On Friday 24 August eight RPS students took part in the annual EPro8 Technology Challenge at Auckland Normal Intermediate School.

In this competition, teams of four race against each other to solve problems and score point using a kit of equipment, with items such as motors, switches, metal poles, gears and wheels.

Our two teams performed extremely well this year, placing second and third out of twelve. They also showed great sportsmanship by assisting the other teams to tidy up their equipment at the conclusion. Both teams now go on to represent our school in the semi-finals later in the year.

Well done to Wayne Zhuang, Isabella White, Ian Parker, Emily Allen, Molly Sherrard, Mikayla Chai, Robert Turnbull and Jenesis Au Yeung, and many thanks to the parents who came along to support.

Yummy Stickers

Yummy stickers

Over the last 3 years thanks to our school families who collected Yummy Stickers for us, we were able to get over $3000 of sports equipment.

Thank you again to all of the families who helped and continue to help with our 2018 collection. So far, we have collected 4000 stickers, amazing!

REMEMBER to KEEP COLLECTING Yummy Stickers and bag labels from Yummy apples (You can cut out the round barcode labels and the square labels that say cut out) to help with getting FREE sports equipment for the school for 2018. LET'S AIM HIGH AGAIN, maybe take a sheet to work with you or give a sheet to family and friends.

Feel free to email me on teawatear@rps.school.nz if you would like a collection sheet sent to you. Otherwise, I have paper copies in my room.

Sheets can be returned to me in Room 4 or you can just drop them into the School Office.

Thank you
