Message from the Principal

As the term draws to a close, it's appropriate for me to recognise two members of our teaching staff who will not be returning in Term 3. As a school we have been blessed with an awesome staff who - collectively, contribute richly to the learning experiences of every child at RPS.

Teaching today - as you know, requires staff to invest enormously.  As well as planning incredible lessons for our students, they also give so freely of their time outside of the classroom.  Be it coaching a team, leading a music group or providing support to those students who require an extra boost.

Firstly Mrs Cathy Richardson.  Cathy joined our staff in 2013, and taught initally in Year 5, and most recently in Year 4.  Cathy has made a wonderful contribution to our school, and has been fully commited to the development of each and every child in her care.  Not only has she worked tirelessly to provide rich learning experiences for her students, but she has also invested her time in the performing arts, playing bass in several bands, and also teaching a ukulele group. Her lively personality and wicked sense of humour will be missed, but we wish her and her husband - Nathan, the very best of luck with their new business.

Lastly, Miss Pip Robbie.  Pip joined our staff in 2017, and worked for 2 years in our Year 6 Team.  Most recently she has worked alongside Mrs Liz Stewart in Year 3. Pip has also made a significant contribution to our school.  Students in her classes have appreciated her commitment and willingness to support their learning.  Pip's versatility in being able to to teach a wide range of students, is a reflection of the talent and skill she possesses.

To Cathy and Pip, I thank them for their amazing work with our children. They have each left their mark on Remuera Primary School and we are indeed richer for the talent, enthusiasm and professionalism they have brought to our school.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday 31st July.  Please be aware that this is a Teacher Only Day, children do not attend school on this day other than to attend their conference.

Conferences will be of 15 minutes duration with the first available appointment at 8am and the last available appointment beginning at 5:00pm. Conferences will take place in the child's classroom and students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

As we only have a limited number of appointments please be aware that Parents can only make one conference per child to allow all parents the opportunity for an appointment.  If both parents are unable to attend together please speak to the class teacher to arrange an alternative meeting.  Students who attend an IEP/IBP are asked not to book as you have meet with the Teacher in Term 2.

Bookings for interviews are electronic and the website will open for bookings on Friday 5th July at 9am and will close on Tuesday 30th July at 3pm.

Once the bookings open on Friday 5th July, to book an interview log on to www.schoolinterviews.co.nz enter the code nqdbe (the second letter is q (Q lower case) and GO. Then follow the three simple steps to confirm your appointment.  If you don't have access to the internet you can contact the office either in person, or by phone and they will make the appointment for you.  Please be aware that we cannot guarantee you your preferred slot.
