PTA Quiz Night Friday 30th June

Our 2017 Quiz Night will be held on Friday 30th June in our School Hall beginning at 7pm. We invite all parents, caregivers and friends to come along for a fun filled evening. So arrange a babysitter and enjoy a good night out.

Tickets cost $45 per person and include a light supper.  A bar is available and you can pay for your drinks by cash or eftpos.

You can purchase tickets via the School Online Store.  Simply click on this link click here.and follow the directions. Note - Once you are on the School Online Store you will see your child's name.  Buy the ticket using your child's name rather than entering your name on the School Online Shop. We will know it is for you and you will be on the guest list once you have paid!

You don't need to arrange a table, but you can if you want to.  Just tell all your friends to buy tickets too.  The more the merrier! The Quizmaster will ask you to get into groups for the quiz.  You can choose where you want to go.

There is no theme to the night.  So come as you want!!

On the night we will have a Quizmaster to run the quiz.  There will also be a quick auction to raise funds for the school.  And there will be lots of dancing.  It will be fun!

2017 Literacy Weeks

During Weeks 9 and 10, the whole school will be taking part in two exciting and fun packed Literacy Weeks.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open next week from Monday to Friday at 8.30am and 2.45pm. Please do pop into the office foyer to buy a book or two.

Each class will use a book or a selection of books that will motivate and excite students to explore their learning across different areas of the curriculum.

The Year One to Three students will be meeting the authors, Sally Sutton and Chris Gurney.  The Year Four to Six students will be having talks from Michel Mulipola and Leonie Agnew.

There will also be a variety of break time activities plus Drama and Writing Competitions.

On Friday 7th July we will have our annual Book Character Parade at 9.15am. We are looking forward to seeing the students dressed up as their favourite book character. We would also love to welcome families to our classrooms after the Parade to read with the students and then to the hall for a delicious morning tea.

A flyer will be sent out on Friday 23rd June with more details.

Writing from Year 1

One day I was looking out of the window and I saw a colourful land.  I ran out of the door and I went in.  I saw a gingerbread man.  Behind the gingerbread man there was a marshmallow garden so I gobbled them up.

Once upon a time I was walking in the woods.  I came across a cave and I saw a magical bottle.  Then the bottle shook open.  I was scared but I tiptoed and the bottle shook open.  A genie popped out and said "You have 3 wishes".

Written by Greta Xharra - Room 8

When I grow up I want to be a policeman. I want to be a policeman because I can catch bad guys! I want to be a policeman because I can work at the police station. I can drive the police car when I am a policeman!

I am holding a leaf and it is crunchy.  The leaf is soft.

I threw the leaves.  I saw a purple leaf.  The leaves fell on my head.

I like to play with Annabelle.  We play with the toy library toys.

I went on a rocket to the moon and I saw an alien. It had one eye and six arms. Then I played tag with the alien. It was fun.

I went to the museum. I saw a volcano and a tree house. I saw a big Maori boat.
