March 9 Newsletter 2017

Message from the Principal

Several years ago the school invested in the development of a dedicated Remuera Primary School App. This app has provided another rich way of communicating between home and school.

Several weeks ago when some of the neighbouring schools went into "Lockdown", we were able to keep our families informed and updated as to the safety of our students.  This week when our Year 6 Team went to camp and were faced with the weather bomb that has effected much of the North Island, once again we were able to allay parents' concerns by posting updates via the school app.

While there has been more than 600 downloads of the app, I am aware that many of our new families may be unfamiliar with this great tool.

The app is designed for both Apple and Android devices and has the following features; - e-mail or phone the school, get directions to the school, reach the website, direct e-mail Absentee notification, push notifications will keep you updated about school news, view School Calendar, E-mail photos to the School, view School Events and view School Newsletters.

If you haven't already downloaded the app, check it out. Just go to the Play Store and search for Remuera Primary School.

Writing from Year 5

The best moment of my life! By Jonathan Ge Room 26

As it came into the station I hopped on. It started rumbling down the track then whoosh...Suddenly it vanished into thin air.

As I approached the cave I was bursting with excitement. I was going to reach for my camera but it was too late. The roller coaster was thundering down the tracks.

The roller coaster entered the darkness, then red vicious eyes were heading straight towards me!!! I screamed AAAHHHH!!!!!!! My heart was pumping like it never had before. It was truly the most exciting moment of my life.

When I left the building I said to myself WOW!!!!!!!!!!! What a ride. My ride may have been finished but it sure was a wonderful experience.
